Enjoy the nature and traditions of AYA! Ceramic Art Experience & Teruha Suspension Bridge Course (6 hours)

Aya Town has nurtured a culture of traditional crafts along with nature. The handiwork of artisans in silk weaving, woodwork, bamboo crafts, pottery, and other crafts are still alive and well in the town.

In this course, you will have the opportunity to experience pottery making in Aya Town, while experiencing a variety of handicrafts. You will also visit the AYA Teruha Suspension Bridge, which spans one of the largest shiny-leaf forests in Japan. Enjoy a special experience that allows you to fully appreciate both nature and culture.

Highlights of this course

  • (1) Ceramic art experience at AYA International Craft Castle

    In order for as many people as possible to enjoy the traditional crafts of Aya Town, handmade crafts are exhibited and sold, and craft classes are held.
    Please enjoy a fun time with your family or loved ones while experiencing the depth of ceramics and other aspects of pottery making.
  • (2) Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge sightseeing

    In May 1982, the AYA Teruha Suspension Bridge was designated as the Kyushu Mountains National Park, and two years later, the AYA Teruha Suspension Bridge was built to allow people throughout Japan to see the terrestrial forests, the source of terrestrial forest culture, from a perspective not usually seen, to feel the blessings of nature and the beauty of the natural ecosystem, and to recognize the importance of nature. The bridge is a symbol of the importance of nature and the importance of the forest.

    After crossing the suspension bridge, a nature trail along the mountain slope continues for about 2 km. Use all your senses to enjoy the fragrance of the trees, the various sounds, warmth, and colors.
  • (3)Lunch: Brewery Aya Sake Spring Forest

    This is a rare sake complex in Japan adjacent to the Unkai Sake Brewery factory. Breweries of shochu, sake, wine, and local beer are gathered here, and visitors can enjoy tastings, shopping, and meals made from local ingredients. There is also a glass studio and a brewery tour, making it a popular tourist spot where visitors can spend a relaxing time in the nature-rich town of Aya.
