Highlights of this course

  • (1) Shiraito Falls

Shiraito Falls, a scenic spot designated by Fukuoka Prefecture, is located 900 meters above sea level, halfway up Hagane Mountain, and has a drop of about 24 meters.
It is a popular place for families to relax and enjoy nature and negative ions.
Around 100,000 hydrangements of approximately 5,000 hydrangeas are planted in the surrounding area, and the best time to view them is from late June to mid-July.
  • (2) Raisan Sennyoji Temple

The precincts of the temple are famous for its autumn foliage, including a 400-year-old giant maple tree, a natural monument designated by Fukuoka Prefecture.
The temple was founded in 725 by Seiga Shonin at the behest of Emperor Shomu, and since then it has been a historic temple with a history of about 1,300 years. It is home to the Standing Wooden Thousand-Armed Kannon Statue and Seiga Shonin Seated Statue, both of which are national important cultural properties and were made in the Kamakura Period, as well as the Wooden Tamonten Statue and Wooden Mochikokuten Statue, designated cultural properties of Fukuoka Prefecture.
  • (3)Itokuni History Museum

This history museum houses and exhibits a large number of cultural properties excavated from ruins and other sites in Itoshima City. Among them, the artifacts excavated from the Hirahara Ruins, a National Historic Site, designated as a National Treasure in June 2006, are a must-see.
The museum has a permanent exhibition room that reproduces the conditions under which mirrors were excavated at the Hirabara Ruins, a special exhibition room, an observation space overlooking the vast Itoshima Plain, and a video space that introduces cultural assets in a way that is easy for children to understand.
  • (4) Ito Nasai

Under the slogan "Made in Itoshima," the store sells high-quality "rice," "vegetables and fruits," "flowers," and "Itoshima beef and Itoshima pork," all of which are grown with the deep commitment of the producers. Producers include not only full-time farmers but also a diverse range of local farmers, including elderly farmers and women.
Note the hand-painted recipes, which are free to take home and are individually hand-crafted by the staff.
  • (5)Jishichi's cream bun

Jishichi's Cream Bread is located in Imajuku, Hakata, where there is still a lot of nature in Fukuoka City, as if hidden away.

Today, enjoy the rustic cream buns produced from a rustic home.
